About

The need for modern Cancer Institute was the dream of late Smt Nandamuri Basava Taraka Rama Rao wife of late Chief Minister Sri N T Rama Rao who herself succumbed to the deadly disease.

The late Chief Minister and several philanthropists, scientists and physicians both in India and USA took the concept further and created the Indo American Cancer Institute and Research Centre at Hyderabad.

Today, the Indo American Cancer Institute and Research Centre, a non-profit making organization, bestows care and treatment on par with world standards of excellence available to everyone at an affordable price to prove that world class treatment and facilities are as much the right of the less privileged as it is the right of those who can afford to cross the seas for reliable and modern treatment.Professionally run by two Boards of Trustees, one based in India and one from the United States of America, this Institute has the inputs of people from different walks of life, committed to the cause of fighting Cancer by timely diagnosis and treatment.

Established in 1989, the Aga Khan Maternal and Child Care Centre (AKMCCC), Hyderabad is part of the Aga Khan Health Services (AKHS). The Centre is a 87-bed maternity facility offering quality, cost-effective and value added health care. Specialising in obstetrics, gynaecology and paediatrics, it is part of the AKHS international referral system with links to the Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi .

AGHA KHAN DIAGNOSTIC CENTRE

Established in 1979, the Aga Khan Hospital for Women, Garden (formerly known as the Aga Khan Maternity Home, Garden) is a 41-bed maternity facility offering quality health care. In 1996, the Hospital was recognised by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) as a ‘Baby Friendly’ Hospital and re-certified in 2001.

Located on the premises, the Aga Khan Diagnostic and Day Surgery Centre, Garden complements the hospital with easily accessible diagnostic and surgical services. They are part of the Aga Khan Health Services international referral system, with links to the Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi.

In 2004, the Hospital was awarded the ISO 9001: 2000 (International Standardisation Organisation) certificate. This certification is awarded only when a hospital’s clinical, diagnostic, administrative and support services conform to the ISO standards.
